Problem: The Sissle NSE earth ball appears but on clicking it nothing happens.
Solution: Introduced a delay on startup for the new communication thread in SissleNSE.exe.

Factual section finished, the rest is done on "a best effort" basis. This is time or load dependant but the problem base is to small to be accurate.

Who does this effect? Reported on XP sytem but I suspect it is connected with the machines power.
Cause: The new communication section in Sissle to the NSE is failing on initialisation. All attempts at debugging alters the system timings and the system runs correctly. The code is correct and the problem is due to when this code runs or what else is running at this moment, which on start up is a lot. A small delay has been added to this new section and so far has removed the problem. This problem must be further investigated until an understanding and a better answer found.

Install XP & Vista
For Windows XP and Vista 32 bits run the Install package. I advice you to select creating a desktop icon and as a seperate operation create a desktop icon for windows explorer, as the 2 programs both need to be active.

Vista 64 bit

Install 32 bit package. On Vista 64 bit use windows explorer to navigate to c:\Windows\SysWOW64 and select explorer in this directory, this is the 32 bit version of explorer. Right click and select "Create Shortcut" and agree to have the shortcut on the desktop.
Select the new shortcut on the desktop and right click and in the "Target" enter

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\explorer.exe /separate, ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

copy and paste such a monstrosity. Lastly rename the shortcut to "Windows Explorer 32" and rearrange shortcuts such that this is next to SissleNSE. Now to use the new SissleNSE use this shortcut. The normal explore is the 64 bit and is not linked to SissleNSE. This is easy to understand when you know that 32 bit programs are in SysWOW64 and that 64 bit programs are in system32 ugh!

  

Existing Customers

This is a Beta version, please keep your latest version of Sissle.
Place the sissle.all (not the sissle.lic) into the new sissleNSE folder.

Existing Customers + anyone currently trialling Sissle

One fundemental problem is the database which is contained in file sissleDataBase.db should be in folder SissleNSE1400 for this new program and folder Sissle!400 for the original sissle. The only solution at this stage is to copy it from folder to folder as your use changes from one to the other. In all honesty I only realised this at the last moment, literally, and I am in two minds whether to postpone this release, but have decided to go ahead.
  Using the SissleNSE

Typically activate SissleNSE first, when running click on the minimum button. Now activate Windows Explorer, the Sissle S3 should be seen as a blue earth ball at the end of the list, typically after the Recycle Bin. The first level below Sissle S3 are the brown buckets, below the buckets you will find folders and files.


 
  Notes you may or may not need

One of the prime ideas of integrating Sissle into Windows Explore is that everyone know how to use explorer, so I will not give instructions on using explorer. I will give some notes relative to Sissle.

1. The normal use of explorer is fast. Sissle involves uploading and downloading files which in comparison to disc to disc operations is slow.
 
2. I believe all combinations work and there are quite a few. The left hand side of explorer is a "Tree" and the right hand side is a "List" and if we divide what explorer sees as "Normal" (pre Sissle section) and "Sissle" (Sissle S3). Ignoring "Normal" to "Normal" operations there is "Sissle" "List" to "Normal" Tree, "Sissle" "Tree" to "Normal" "Tree", "Normal" "List" to "Sissle" "Tree" and "Normal" Tree" ti "Sissle" "Tree, "Sissle" "List" to "Sissle" "Tree" you can open a second windows explorer and introduce even more combinations, specifically of interest is the "List" to "List" combinations.
The "Sissle" "Tree" to "Normal" "Tree" works but in a user unfriendly manner, the download occurs while you are dragging so you must hold your finger down until the download finishes. For a small download this is ok, for anything bigger is really annoying. It is better to arrange that the folder is in the "Sissle" "List" and drag from there, this works correctly.

3. There are no moves, all operations are copy. This is for safety reasons as a move equals copy plus delete, I would prefer the delete was done as a seperate task. This is a Beta version and as Sissle NSE matures this will be revisited.

4. The setting of multiple ACLs has always been contentious, it is a 2 stage operation
i. Read one file and alter its ACL and try it out. When to your liking "Keep" and "Ok" will close the dialogue and arm the multiple set ACL mode
ii. Select all folders and files requiring the new ACL's and click on the "ACL" button.
The process is the same except there is no "ACL" button within explorer to see becoming armed. You can bring the Sissle application to the foreground and check the ACL armed button.Then use the "Write ACL" within the context menu (right click) in windows explorer.

5. Sometimes menus do not fully pop up and are hidden in the background. For instance when creating a bucket a pop up dialogue to enter the new name, if you do not see this, look along the Start bar and click on New Folder window icon to make it visible.

&. Certain operations are still only available through the Sissle program, but these are more obscure operations like recovering the database for buckets.

All of the above faults are being worked on, but are mainly more annoying than show stopping problems.
